I have all three campaigns but not eotn. Currently I am done doing all three asenssion quest.

1. I am sucking when it comes to the dopplegangor part. Any suggestions would be awesome

2. What is my best best for armor right now, I've started to collect some prices to trade in desert area for the lvl 60 stuff is there better within reach?

3. How do I get elite skills?

4. Will I always be a glass cannon as a fire Ele? It seems my monk second is kinda useless, any recomendations once I assend?

Any help will be great links are appreciated as well.
Thanks

Look at the wiki page on it, "guide to defeating the doppelganger" should find you the page. It has advice for all professions.
Generally, what you need to do is make better use of skills than the doppelganger. Equip mostly bad skills, so he wastes time casting them, while you use a good one. Equip skills that exhaust, so he shuts himself down.
Quoting from the wiki for the elementalist:

Elementalist
Bring many worthless, slow casting skills, like Attunements, Conjure spells, a Glyph and maybe enchantments from your secondary profession. Place a simple damaging spell (like Flare) in the rightmost skill slot. Cast the enchantments you need before the cinematic. Then kill the Doppelganger while it's busy setting up enchantments and glyphs.
If you have an elemental weapon, bring Conjure Flame, Conjure Frost, or Conjure Lightning depending on your weapon and (if available) Glyph of Elemental Power. Cast the Glyph and then Conjure before the cinematic. The Doppelganger does not have an elemental weapon, so its weapon will not be boosted; you should win by simply attacking.
Bring only Blinding Flash. When you begin, use Blinding Flash and activate it every time Blindness wears off. Wand or staff it to death. Equipping a martial weapon will make the Doppelganger use Blinding Flash on you.
Hard Mode - same as the first tactic, but you need to bring a stronger damage-dealing spell or multiple spells. Also bring Lightning Orb to offset the Doppelganger's higher armor rating in hard mode.
Hard Mode - Bring only Blinding Flash and either Empathy (secondary Mesmer) or Insidious Parasite (secondary Necromancer). Maintain blind and the hex. It will kill itself while doing virtually no damage to you. You can add Armor of Earth, Armor of Frost, Enfeeble, Mist Form, or Ward Against Melee to make it even safer.
Hard Mode - Use Elemental Lord skill to heal yourself and increase your attribute skills. Remember to precast all enchantments before the cinematic so you will have time to cast your spells on him.

Elementalist armor maxes out at 60. While you can improve it a bit by adding insignia, the baseline will remain 60.

3. How do I get elite skills?
First, get a "signet of capture" skill from a skill trainer or a quest giver in Lion's arch. Equip it on your skillbar. Then, kill a boss with the elite skill you want. Activate the signet of capture over his dead body, and select the skill you want from the menu that pops up.

Elementalists can get several skills in the earth magic line that make them excellent tanks. However, GW is not really a tanking game. Also, if you want to be a strong damage dealer, you'd better equp those skills and stay at the back of the group.

There is a way you can get max armor (60AL) now without collecting all that stuff. Go to Lion's Arch and you'll see a couple of announcements pop up about how to access Factions and Nightfall. Follow the instructions for getting to factions (there's a quest). Just follow the quest and you'll end up in Kaineng Center - where there ar three armoror who craft max armor.

3. How do I get elite skills?
Again, in Lion's Arch talk to Magi Malaquire. He's got a quest that tells you how to capture Elite skills from bosses. He'll even give you a Signet of Capture to get you going.

One more thing - While you're in the Desert, there's a quest that will give you 15 attribute points: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Sariss_Yassith And there's another attribute point quest you get from Vanyi in Droknar's Forge.

I'll address only this. No you won't. You can switch and do different types of play. See here: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Special:PrefixIndex/Build:E/

Find a build you can create with the 3 base campaigns (or just buy EotN since it's pretty cheap I think right now) and one that you enjoy playing. Have fun.

@Doppelganger: Do you have Iron Mist? It's a totally useless hex spell that makes the enemy move 90% slower but immune to all damage except lightning damage. With this skill in the Bar the Doppelganger will protect you (15/30s uptime).
Bringing a bunch of fire skills to deal damage and Iron Mist (don't waste points in earth magic for that - but the Doppelganger has all attributes at 12) should do the job.
tbh, I've never tried that - I killed the Doppelganger as E/Me with Earth Armor and Empathy

With /Monk you can bring retribution and let him attack you. I don't know if it still works, but there was a time when the double wouldn't use regen healing spells when taking damage. So you could bring healing breeze. Lately I've either been Necro or Beastmaster, so haven't tried Monk tricks.
